Sounds of the Rockies Entertainment Group is an elite Mobile Disc Jockey & Entertainment Company started in 1995. Don Kennedy, founder & owner of Sounds of the Rockies, had been a part of the industry for many years.  As a truly business savvy individual, he decided that he needed to raise the industry standards by making a full-time, quality, service oriented company - performing each event in a professional & tasteful manner. He began Sounds of the Rockies with personal customer service & options in mind. Even though the business has grown, he continues to hold the same motto & value true for each employee to make every event exceed our client's expectations. He recruits only the BEST, EXPERIENCED & REPUTABLE DJs in the industry ~ who also care about the quality of product and service they provide.

Our Full-Time Management Staff:

Don Kennedy, Owner

Don has been a DJ most of his life!  He started as a young teen by taking his dad's new home stereo and doing dances (blowing it up by the way!).  Don is a great DJ for any event with over 25+ years of experience and amazing music and crowd "knowledge".  Don is also known for his incredible talent with sound system and lighting installations at night clubs, dance studios, venues and more.  Sounds of the Rockies' amazing, high-quality sound systems and lighting options are put together by the BEST!    

Michelle Kennedy, Owner

Michelle left the corporate world in 2008 to "join forces" with Don.  Michelle is an over-achiever (if that is possible!) in every aspect and a complete perfectionist for events, details & pre-planning.  She is 100% dedicated to the quality and service each client is given - before, during and their satisfaction after each event.  Ask Michelle any question and get a fast, thorough response.  Everyone has a "friend in the business" with Michelle!

Sean Okland

Sean is our General Office Manager in charge of organization and continued DJ and customer support (he is extremely detail oriented!). Sean is a great DJ with over 13+ years of experience and is a highly requested DJ for many types of events.  He is a very diverse DJ and passionate in making every event perfect - not only for himself, but for our entire team!  He has a special knack for finding unique, enjoyable music our clients to personalize each event! Sean joined the Sounds of the Rockies team in 2004. He attended the University of Northern Colorado and Graduated with a B.A. in the Spring of 2001.

Jimmy Stofa

Jimmy is our General Sales and Service Manager. Jimmy is a great addition to our team with his sense of humor (he keeps us laughing!) and willingness to work hard to make every event a success.  Jimmy is an extremely motivated, high-energy DJ.  He has over 10+ years of experience and originally comes to Sounds of the Rockies from Austin, Texas.  Jimmy is very professional and well diverse in many music types and a welcome personality as an MC at any event!

Jeff Anderson

Jeff is a highly experienced Wedding DJ focused on performing every wedding perfectly. Jeff has a vast music knowledge that amazes even the best of us. With over 25+ years of experience as a mobile DJ & Entertainer, he is a  perfect asset to Sounds of the Rockies. Everyone knows Jeff and it is rare (if ever) that he performs a wedding where he doesn't know someone...or has already been requested their by family and friends!  Jeff is also excellent at Corporate Events and Private Parties.

Matt Baldwin

Matt takes his work as a DJ very seriously!  Matt has 15+ years of Wedding and Corporate experience and is great at every event!  Matt is an extremely knowledgeable (seriously, try him!) professional who is more than committed to the perfection and satisfaction of every client - and it has shown in all of his events!  Although he takes his work seriously, Matt has a very fun personality that "seriously" complements his skills!   

David Hubbard

David brings Sounds of the Rockies another fun, outgoing personality with a great sense of teamwork and fresh, new ideas with over 16+ years of experience. David loves to make people dance and have a great time at every event!  He takes great pride in being a DJ and is highly requested for any type of event.  David keeps us entertained in the office by showing us all of the latest and greatest dance moves (he is good)!

Michael Waldron

Trent Warren

Trent comes to Sounds of the Rockies with almost 20 years of experience as a Professional DJ for Weddings and Special Events.  Always smiling, Trent is exceptional at coordinating every detail at each event and using his musical talents/ diversity to match any crowd.  Trent has a very laid back and pleasant personality - although a highly motivated, energetic, charismatic and fun DJ!

John Hatcher

John is a well diverse DJ with over 12+ years of experience.  He brings an entertaining personality, not only as a DJ, but as a fantastic MC.  John specializes in many types of events including Weddings, Corporate Events, Bar Mitzvah MC and more!  John is very high-energy at events while never loosing his professionalism in any environment.  Our favorite phrase from John after a corporate event was "they played hard to get...but I got 'em!"

Ben

Ben has a real passion for DJing. He started locally and has become a valuable asset to the Sounds of the Rockies family since 2007.  He is quite personable and great for people with a more laid back style - until you put a mic in his hand! Ben is a highly requested School Dance DJ, Sweet 16 Party and Graduation Party DJ. 

Cashius

Cashius has a very extensive knowledge of music and true desire to make people dance!  He has a fun personality and is committed to the excellence of everything he does.  Cashius returns to Sounds of the Rockies to do what he loves after serving in the military overseas.  We welcome him back to our team of great DJs and as a jack of many trades!

Marcus: 

Marcus is an extremely talented, diverse DJ who brings a lot of energy to his events.  Marcus has been DJing since he was in school and is very popular with teen events and age groups.  He is also great at hyping a crowd and has the ability to use Serato and vinyl (scratch) for a different mix and visual experience.  Marcus is "OnIt"!!

Jason:  Jason has been a part of our team for many years bringing a unique style and experience to events.  He enjoys making everyone dance and really knows how to read and move the crowd! Jason brings a "personality" to every event and is a truly amazing DJ! Jason also has the ability to use Serato and vinyl (scratch). 

Jonnell:  Jonnell joined our team as a high school up and coming DJ.  He really knows his music and has trained with the best (our DJs)!  Jonnell is an awesome DJ who can also break out the moves!  He is highly requested by schools and private teenage parties!

Mark:  Mark started "enjoying" our company as a high school student - always willing to help us at his school dances and quickly became a part of our team.  After 10+ years of DJ experience, Mark continues to do what he loves with Sounds of the Rockies. He strives for perfection at any and every event.
